The 1.70 m beauty from Ngounié will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant.

It is the first time Gabon will be represented at the Miss Universe pageant.

First runner-up was Divouvi Channa while Nyangue Cherolle Boubéya was named second runner-up.

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2012 was held in Centro de Bellas Artes Luis Ferré in San Juan, Monday evening. The winner was 19-year-old Bodine Koehler Peña, representing Rio Grande. The 1.82 m. tall beauty is a model for six years and speaks four language. Koehler will represent the tiny islands of Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2012.

Meanwhile, hailed as first runner-up is Vanessa de Roide Toledo (Carolina) while named as second runner-up is Gabriela Berríos Pagán (Toa Alta). Jennifer Guevara Campos (Arroyo), Nadyalee Torres (Aguas Buenas) and Shaleyka Vélez Avilés (Aguada) completed the Top 6 finalists.

Toledo will try to clinch the Miss Intercontinental 2012 title while Berríos will compete for the title Miss Supranational 2012. Guevara and Torres, on the other hand, will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Continente Americano 2012 and Top Model of the World 2012 respectively.

Verónica Rodríguez Hernández (Camuy), Sacha Valdés Orta (Loíza), Mara Liz Rivera Ramos (Mayagüez) and Darla Pacheco Montañez (Yabucoa) completed the Top 10 semi-finalists.

22-year old Maria Fernanda Cornejo from Ecuador bested 66 other contestants from around the world to win the first ever grand slam title for her country.

SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Lee Seong-hye, a 22-year-old student of the Parsons School of Design in New York, won the honor of South Korea's beauty queen for 2011 on Wednesday.

Lee, beaming with joy and happiness, was crowned by last year's winner Jung Sora. With the glittering crown on her head, the new Miss Korea showed her determination to promote the best of South Korea.

"I would like to attribute this honor to all those who have prayed for me and my loving family. As the winner of Miss Korea, I 'll do my best to represent South Korea and show the country's beauty and national prestige in the next one year," Lee said.

The night of glamour and excitement in search of the country's most beautiful woman ended as Lee and the six runners-up strutted on the stage with a grace and glowing smile.

The country's biggest beauty contest, which began in 1957, was held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in central Seoul with the participation of 54 contestants.

The contestants thrilled the audience with the opening performance that they had prepared during the 26-day training period.

They also charmed the judges in their beautiful colored dresses, hoping to be the stars of the competition that would give them the opportunity to represent South Korea as Miss Korea.

After all portions of the competition were over, only seven were left on the stage, obviously nervous to find out the final results. And the honor went to Lee Seong-hye.

Lee will represent South Korea in the Miss World 2011 and Miss Universe 2012 competitions.

The Miss Universe Organization has announced the two hosts in the upcoming Miss Universe 2011 pageant in Sao Paolo, Brazil on September 12th.

New York, NY – August 2, 2011 – Donald J. Trump and Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that Natalie Morales, news anchor and co-host on NBC’s “Today” and Andy Cohen, host of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens: Live” will host the 2011 MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant live from Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 9-11 p.m. ET on NBC. A live Spanish simulcast will air on Telemundo.

“We are happy to welcome Andy and Natalie to the Miss Universe stage where they are sure to turn up the heat in São Paulo,” said Shugart. “This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant and what better place to showcase beautiful women from around the world than in Brazil, a country that is as charming and beautiful as its people.”

Natalie Morales was recently named news anchor for NBC’s “Today.” She also serves as co-host of Third Hour, a position she has held since 2006 when she joined the NBC News team as a national correspondent. Natalie previously hosted the 2010 MISS USA® Pageant and the 2010 MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant.

Andy Cohen is the host and executive producer of “Watch What Happens: Live,” Bravo’s late night, interactive talk show that features guests from some of Bravo’s most popular series, as well as from the world of entertainment, politics and pop culture. The 2011 MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant kicks off a series of worldwide events hosted by Brazil. In addition to this global beauty event, Brazil is host to the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. With the city of São Paulo at center stage, the pageant will take place at Credicard Hall, a prominent music theater for the city.

MANILA, Philippines – Expect the country to host a Miss World beauty pageant very soon as the Philippines now holds the franchise to the 60-year-old pageant.

Miss World Limited President Julia Morley flew to the country to personally award the franchise to trimedia personality Cory Quirino.

Morley arrived Monday afternoon from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, together with reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills and runner-up Emma Warells.

The awarding of the franchise will be held Tuesday during formal ceremonies at the Shangri-la Makati.
According to Quirino, the new franchise means that an exclusive search for the country’s representative to the Miss World pageant will be held beginning this year.

Quirino disclosed that beginning March, they will scour the country for intelligent and beautiful Filipinas for the first Miss World Philippines pageant which is scheduled to be presented in August this year.

She added that they will require participants to be at least 5′-7″ in height and must have a deep and great love for the Philippines and intelligent enough to express her thoughts properly.

The country’s representative in the Miss World pageant used to be picked from contestants of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

While in the Philippines, Morley, Mills, and Warells will tour the country, visiting numerous charitable institutions to spread the advocacy of strengthening children and women’s rights.

Meanwhile, officials at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport said the holding of the Miss World contest in the Philippines, if it pushes through, will considerably boost the number of arrivals at the airport and help the nation by way of additional revenues from tourism.

Alexandria Mills to begin first international visit. The 60th Miss World is currently preparing for her forthcoming international tour, her first of several worldwide trips planned throughout 2011.

Her journey will begin in the United States, with Alexandria starting off in New York and Buffalo in support of Variety, The Children's Charity, where she will be involved in fundraising events and have a chance to visit some of the people who have benefitted from the charity's help. Miss World will then travel to Los Angeles for the Golden Globes Award Ceremony.

Alexandria will then fly on to Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Australia, with further charity events and visits due to take place in each location, before returning to Dallas to make a special guest appearance as part of the Superbowl celebrations.

Miss India, Nicole Faria was announced as Miss Earth 2010, taking over the reign of Larissa Ribeiro Ramos, Miss Earth 2009. Unlike other pageants, there was no "runner-up" in that sense. Instead the titles of Miss Earth-Air, Miss Earth-Water and Miss Earth-Fire are bestowed on the next three contestants. Miss Ecuador Earth, Jennifer Stephanie Pazmino Saldana emerged victorious as the Best in Long Gown. She was awarded a sash, plaque and a US$30,000, necklace studded with semi-precious stones and diamond from sponsor, PNJ Jewellers of Vietnam.

The delegates will participate in a month long pageant activities and special contests prior to the coronation night. Finals night will be held in Vinpearl, Nha Trang on December 4th with LIVE telecast on VTV1 and VTV4, ABS&CBN, TFC and Star World.

Viviana Ortiz Pastrana from Corozal has just been crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2011 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan. She will compete in Miss Universe 2011 pageant.

An 18 year old beauty from United States was crowned as the 60th Miss World held at the Beauty Crown Theatre in Sanya, China last October 30th. She is Alexandria Mills from Louisville, Kentucky. The 1st runner-up was Emma Wareus from Botswana and the 2nd runner-up was Adriana Vasini from Venezuela.

Continental Queens : Queen of Europe: Ireland (Emma Waldron); Queen of Asia and Oceania: China (Xiao Tang); Queen of Americas: United States (Alexandria Millls); Queen of Caribbean: St. Lucia (Aiasha Gustave); and Queen of Africa: Botswana (Emma Wareus).
